(More customer reviews)This is an excellent pressure cooker at an excellent price. I do feel they should have included a trivet and metal plate. All of the accessories are extra.
I ordered the canning rack which holds 4 pints. I don't believe it would be wise to try to can quarts in this one, but the directions were not clear. In fact, I would have given this a much higher rating if they were, but I had trouble figuring out how to use it...and one does want to follow directions where a pressure cooker is concerned. They kept referring to to pressures, hi and low. I finally realized the 6 qt model has both but not the 10 and the directions were applicable to each model. The 10 quart pressures at 15 lbs....FAST!
I once had Fagor 6 qt model and the metal was heavier than this one. However, the upside is that it is easier to lift up to pour things from it which is a plus if you're elderly as I am.
I really like they way this cooks; fast, easy to clean. It's beautifully designed pan.
There are numerous uses for non-pressure cooking too. Big enough for a stock pot, cooking spagetting for a crowd, etc etc.
I haven't canned with it. However, I plan on making a big pot of soup and canning what's left.
One reviewer mentioned that you can't fill it over 2/3 full. That is true of ANY pressure cooker. So if you are debating between a 6 quart or a 10 quart, go for the 10 quart.
There are additional accessories for this..canning rack, bucket insert (for spaghetti, etc.) I recommend getting the lid for non-pressured food and keep the pressure lid for pressure.
I don't think you will be disappointed with this product.

The product is raised in the center, and as a result, any liquid, such as pancake batter or eggs, run to the sides. My biggest complaint is that EVERYTHING sticks to the pan. No amount of oil or butter can stop virtually all foods from sticking. I was initially attracted to this product because it has a removable pan. However, it does not heat evenly. I suspect this is because the pan just sits on top of electric coils, and the heat is not distributed evenly. I do not recommend this product!

Once I thought I had it in but as soon as I let go of it it fell right out. I also noticed that my condensation tray won't come out either. I also don't like how it has filters that need to be cleaned after every use. If I had not received this as a gift it would be going back to the store but since I don't have the receipt I'm stuck with it.

(More customer reviews)I originally had my eye on the T-Fal 3378100 Maxi Pro deep fryer but a recent series of bad reviews lead me to consider other options. Before buying a deep fryer I did a lot of research on the Internet and narrowed my focus to the following criteria:
Most capacity. Have you seen the inside of the small deep fryers? You'd be hard pressed to get even one potato worth of fries in those things. I really don't like working in batches as it makes it hard to time the meal so I wanted something that held A LOT. With over a gallon of oil capacity, it is the largest I've seen short of commercial models.
Temperature recovery. Once you drop the cold food into the deep fryer the oil temp will go down. How quickly the unit recovers makes the difference between soggy and crispy golden brown. With an exposed heating element I felt I got faster recovery and when I cooked fish the drop was only about 20 degrees and for a very short time.
Easy clean up. The frying vessel is stainless steel and goes inside the aluminum exterior you see. This is removable and has corners for easy pouring. It is also very nice that the cover, fry vessel and basket can be put in the dishwasher. The only part that gets dirty and needs to be cleaned by hand is the heating element.
HOT HOT HOT. Well, this is the only area where the unit let me down. The company says the maximum tempeature is 360 but I couldn't get anything over 345. The temperature is a little low but the food I made came out just fine. You may need to fry things for a bit longer but this is less hassle since the machine is automatic compared to an open pot on the stove.
I honestly think the only way to do better than this unit is looking to commercial equipment which is not feasible given a home environment. The unit performs well even when pushed to the limit (yes, I tried loading the thing up with a full 3 pounds) and is more convenient than a pot on the stove. I will admit that the unit is *very* simple. No electronic doodads, timers and the like. This is a good thing, however, since there is less to break and in the end the unit works for the reason you bought it.

The removable frying pot is great for clean up. Outer plastic really does stay cool. The old stainless fryers could burn you on contact. The oil does tend to splatter beyond the inner bowl onto the heating element, so odor is a small problem. Other than that, great value. Nothing like home made french fries!

There must be some kind of trick to it, but I don't know what it is. After all the frustration, I finally returned the item to Amazon for refund.

When cooking with it you have to keep adjusting the heat as it won't hold an even tempature, one pan will get hot and the other too cold, you adjust it and it goes the other way, one reason for this is the paper thin pans that won't hold any heat. The directions for assembly are very scant. Again this fryer is junk, I will not recommend to anyone.

Buy it only for occasional use. If you plan to fry alot, buy a basket for your dutch oven or buy a commercial aluminum fry bottom/basket.
