It can't keep the oil temp. up and will unexpectadly turn off and not be able to be turned back on for hours. The basket/handle combo are poorly constructed since the handle must come off to close the lid and it is extremely difficult to remove the handle. DO NOT BUY!

(More customer reviews)At first, I loved this little deep fryer. It is perfect for one person, easy to clean, and easy to use. But I went to use it yesterday and it would not turn on. I checked the power, which was working fine. I only used it the day before and it worked just fine. I've only had this fryer for a month and a half. Of course that's just long enough for Amazon's 30 day return window to expire and leave me without any recourse. There is no warranty on the fryer either, which I did not pay attention to when I made this purchase.
Bottom line, stay away from E-Ware deep fryers. They don't stand behind their products.

First time I used it, I accidently slightly over-filled with oil and it ran over when I lowered the basket with two fish fillets. No damage just a bit of a mess to clean up. Since then, no problems and I use it two to three times a week and it's great. Warms up fast and fries perfectly and I can re-use the same oil a few times saving some money.

(More customer reviews)I've been wanting a deep fat fryer for years. I didn't want to deal with most units as they hold 3 or 4 quarts of oil. This little guy only holds 1 quart max. It will even work fine with just half a quart of oil. So far I'm very happy using vegetable oil. It heats up in a couple minutes. It cooks quickly and with the lid, it doesn't make a mess. The unit is quite small so if you're going to cook for more than 2 people, get a bigger unit. In fact, now that I'm thinking about it. I think I'll make some fish fillets and french fries, AKA: fish-n-chips for lunch today. I got this on sale but it's still worth the price. I've been using it often for over a month now and the only con so far is that it doesn't clean itself. To the person who couldn't get the lid to close: Just tilt the basket a little, it will close just fine.

Clean-up is a little annoying because you cannot remove the oil container from the unit. This is pretty much exactly the same as the FryDaddy with the addition of adjustible thermostat and fry basket and cover to keep oil from spattering when frying.

(More customer reviews)This is a really good deep fryer that is suitably sized for 1-2 servings of your everyday things like fries, onion rings,egg rolls etc. I have found that it also acts very well as a steamer; just a little water & the lid snaps closed. The reason that I give it only 4 stars tho, instead of 5, is because of the magnetized cord...it makes it very easy for someone like me with arthritis in my hands to plug it into the fryer but it also detaches very easily & unnoticebly, which makes me nervous because if its still plugged into the wall thats live electricity coming thru it, so i recommend that purchasers of this product be aware of this. Other than that one thing I believe anyone would be very pleased with it.

Deni 9301 Mini 840-Watt 1-1/4-Quart Stainless-Steel Deep Fryer Review

(More customer reviews)The Deni 9301 Mini fryer sorta works but not really.
On the plus side, the product is nicely styled, compact, has an adjustable thermostat, heating indicator light, fry basket, lid that can be placed on the oil tank while the fryer is still hot, and after a fasion it does function as a deep fryer for one or two people.
On the minus side, the thermostat only goes to 375 degrees which is not hot enough for crisp frying. The fryer is very lightly built so there is not enough mass in the oil tank to hold the heat when you emerse food in the oil. If you emerse a half basket of frozen french fries at an oil temperature of 375 degrees, the oil temperature will quickly drop to around 250 degrees and not recover much beyond 300 degrees before the fries are done. This results in soggy french fries. The fryer is slow to recover oil temperature between frying batches which makes cooking a second batch of something a protracted event. The handle on the fry basket has to be removed for storage rather than just folded. The oil will not pour out of the fryer without dripping because of the design of the oil tank lip.
Overall I would rate the Deni 9301 as a step in the right direction but it is in need of significant redesign to make it an effective product for its intended use. I wish I still had my 26 year old Oster mini fryer that finally gave up the ghost after many years of faithful service. The Oster was a far better product than the Deni 9301. Given how lightly the Deni 9301 mini fryer is built, I seriouly doubt it will be around very long. In good faith, I cannot recommend this product to anyone. The Deni 9301 is an improvement over nothing but it does not perform its intended mission very well.
