(More customer reviews)The same thing happened to me using this product as happened to the previous reviewer. For all the quality products Lodge makes, this one is garbage. I learned that the hard way when the handle came unlocked as I emptied hot french fries out of it. The fries came within centimeters of scalding my hand. And I couldn't believe the catch was not wide enough to rest on the side of the very dutch oven for which it was designed! I'm going to get a basket whose handle does not fold into the basket for easy storage. I'll take the loss of a little more storage space over a trip to the burn unit any day. If I can find the receipt this one is going back. Problem is I think I threw it away. Aaarrgghh!

I am a man and find it heavy....a woman may find it difficult to reach up and take it off a high shelf. Best stored on a lower cabinet where you can easily lift it rather than high up where it will come crashing down on your head.

Built to last. I give a light coat of Veg Oil after every use. Do not cover pot while not in use. Keep pot and cover vented. Moisture will stay inside a covered pot and start to rust the metal.
