The burner delivers a lot of heat to the pot, and there is plenty of regulation available for the burner. However, I'm disappointed in the thinness of the pot material as I hoped for a more sturdy pot. Some apparent tousling during shipment caused a significant dent in the pot, but I was able to pop it out. Bottom line, though, this is a terrific value, about 40% lower than if I had purchased all components separately.

(More customer reviews)It does what you need it to do, it goes in the dishwasher, and it's pretty. The handle doesn't get terribly hot, and you can hang it up by the loop at the end of the handle. I was surprised by how big it is.
We got a deep-fat fryer for Christmas and this is fun to use with it. We make perfect tortilla shells by dropping them in the fryer basket and pushing down on them with this doodad. Works great.

(More customer reviews)With proper care this pan will last more than a lifetime. Most of the Cast Iron pans made in the late 1800's are still floating around. This pan can last that long too. While this pan is hugh and can cook lots and lots of food. It is better suited for outdoor cooking on a Campfire or a Turkey fryer base than useing in a kitchen. It is pretty big for a stove as you can have two burners heating it at once. I am glad I bought this pan. I also bought a smaller skillet for use on my home stove.
But for campfire cooking this is one of the most versitle pieces out there, you can fry in it, use it a a griddle and make monster pancakes. You can even whip up a big batch of Chili. If you like camping or even backyard cooking this is a must have. I like to use mine with a Turkey deepfryer base as the heating element it works great.

I enjoy the fact can use both grill and griddle at the same time. This is great for cooking for my family, too, because it has plenty of grill surface. The plates always heat up evenly and quickly, and the temperature control gives me a ridiculous amount of control over my food's preparation. The excess grease, when using the grill side of things, runs off into a collection troth that neatly hides and stores inside the grill between the two plates. When releasing the spring-loaded plates from the grill, the rest grease gets collected in the troth as well. It's great to pull out on a lazy Saturday morning or for a quick meal before going out. I'm thoroughly impressed.
