(More customer reviews)I teach German and make funnel cakes with all my 6th grade students (about 175 each year.) I used to do it the "old fashioned" way by covering the spout of a funnel with a finger and then pouring it. This was a MESS! This pitcher makes it so much quicker, cleaner and easier! I don't use the ring because it is pretty unnecessary in my opinion (plus it scratches non-stick Teflon off of pan.) I also haven't yet used the mix because we make our own from scratch. So I guess I'm just reviewing the pitcher, but it works GREAT! Because the kids have more control over movement, they really can get creative with their cakes.
The one con is that it is made of plastic, so I'm worried that one day I'll have a meltdown with either the bottom being set too close to the burner or the funnel tip going in the hot oil, but so far, so good. This is great fun for everyone and my students LOVE it!
A few tips:
Add some cinnamon and almond extract--yum!
Flip using metal tongs--not a spatula--for less splatter and mess.
Plan to make several at a time--they are cheap to make, but the oil can be pricey.

All-Clad Stainless-Steel Saute Pan Review

(More customer reviews)I own the 3-Quart version of this pan, purchased in a set before I knew better, and have used this 4-Quart. I prefer this one because its taller sides make doing a true sauté (which means "jump" in French) of the ingredients a bit easier. Taller sides like this are what are found in most European sauté pans. The previous review is inaccurate in that both the 3-Quart and 4-Quart All-Clad pans are identical in diameter, which can be verified at All-Clad's web site.
Per All-Clad, the LTD and Master Chef lines use thicker aluminum so if you don't need the ease of maintenence and durability that comes with a stainless-steel exterior, I would suggest you consider these other lines for their more even (i.e. better) heating performance.
Also, there are higher-end cookware lines out there than All-Clad. Don't think that All-Clad is the "best" available. Brands such as Demeyere and Bourgeat have features such as more durable exterior finishes (Demeyere Atlantis, etc.), thicker aluminum cores, more comfortable handles (an All-Clad weakness), and even full copper (more conductive than aluminum). These come at a higher price than All-Clad. On the other hand, there are less-expensive product lines such as Calphalon Commercial (often cheap on Amazon.com!) and brands used in commercial kitchens like Sitram.
Still, this is a nice pan and I don't think you can really go wrong with All-Clad. It's the best commonly available at consumer kitchen shops and easy to order on Amazon.com.

I couldn't believe how FAST the shipping was, I ordered them on Saturday afternoon & had them by Monday! Wow. The wooden handles stay cool & the fold-up feature is great for storing in a drawer. The only thing I could say not favorable about them is that sometimes egg sticks in the joint where the handle fits into the ring, but that is minor. I use them every weekend.

(More customer reviews)I bought one of these for my mom after seeing her prepare bacon in the microwave for an otherwise simple lunchtime sandwich. This thing is a great little idea; no splattering grease, no nasty paper towels or anything left behind. For her particular microwave (800w I believe; quite small), it came out to about one minute per slice to achieve the desired result.
I have read other reviews saying to be careful about burning the device; I can understand that, as it does get fairly hot in the microwave. Plus, it requires a little different method to cook. I found that, after six minutes in the microwave, the slices of bacon weren't quite as crisp as we wanted, but after leaving them to sit in the cup for a couple of minutes while doing other things in the kitchen, they crisped-up well. I believe the delay is due to the enclosed nature of the device holding more moisture inside. Let the bacon air out for a minute after cooking and it seems to be just right.

My only disappointment is that the remote pager unit does not display the temperature. This is my own fault since on re-reading the description, it only says that the pager can also display a timer. Even there, the pager timer is independent of the one in the main unit, so you have to set both at the same time if you want to see how much time is left from the pager.

grease catch slides broke the first cleaning (cheap, brittle plastic)
Very uneven heating. Far left end of griddle way over-temp, far right end barely warm.
Temp control does not match griddle temp. Set the temp control over 225 and you will be making char-broiled pancakes.
Surface very rough. Non-stick coating is anything but non-stick. Coating was applied over improperly prepared surface.
Unfortunately, it was a gift from my kids so I'm stuck with it for awhile. "Dad! make us some pancakes on your new griddle", Uh... Ok, I'll try.

(More customer reviews)This is useful and fun, what more could you ask ? You can use one or two probes. The probes are connected to the transmitter, you then turn on the remote, then the transmitter. I use it for everything, steaks, chops, whatever. I go into the living room and watch the remote. When the temperature gets over about 100 I turn the meat over if necessary. The only thing I have noticed is the temperatures that trigger the audible alarm are set too high, likely thanks to lawyers. For example, when I set it to medium rare for beef, it was more like medium. Now I set it on rare ( 140 ) and get a perfect medium rare. For pork the number is 170. I take it off at 160. After all, it continues to cook after it is taken off. Before I bought this I used to guess but now I get perfect results every time. Highly recommended.

(More customer reviews)We tried so many pressure cookers over the years as Indian Cooking demands heavy use of pressure cooking for making lentil soups and curries. We even tried few models from India but none could last more than a few years. Either they have problems with safety valves, handles, or they would become loose too often that requires tightenening of handles. If they last well, they were too bulky and takes almost forever to open and close the lid. Most annoying of all, they all make crazy sound that scares both my kids.
Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers sure have expensive prices but once you see them and feel them, you will find every reason to agree that they are well worth the price. This particular 2 set model is so lovely that my wife decided to get rid of most of her cookware as they both compliment each other so well. They can be used for almost everything we cook for our daily needs. The lids are interchangeable. This makes it so convenient to pressure cook veggies and lentils and then continue to use it with glass lid to make the final curry without having to transfer the cooked veggies and lentils to another cookware to make the curry. You can cook meat much faster and tastier without having to marinate for long.
The small one is so convenient if you have small babies and would like to feed them fresh boiled veggies, rice, or lentils. It saves lot of cooking time and the cook book that comes with it is wonderful. It gives you so many nice and simple receipes for everyone.
Couple of our guests got so impressed with this that they bought it right away from Amazon.com without waiting to get an incredible deal for it in their Amazon.com GoldBox like I did.

This unit burns too hot, turns your pans completely black and cannot be toned down to use this way. I even bought baffle plates of steel to place on top to make it burn cooler, but that did not help. I sent it back to the factory to have them check it, they siad it was burning fine. This is designed for large pots only to cook crab or corn, etc.
I am looking now for the same size, but with smaller burners.

First of all, there were really not very good instructions - nothing inside the box, and the outside of the box instructions were horrible. It didn't seem like the person who wrote those instructions did not have English as their first language - many mistakes. Also, no matter what Idid, the core remover went in crooked and so I only got half a blossom. I would like to send it back, but I can't find how and where to send it. Can you help? It certainly was NOT worth $27.
