It has plenty of air holes to keep the charcoal goin'. Delivery was fast. If anyone is thinking about rebuilding their smoker, go to Amazingribs.com and find out the right way to do it. It would make a good fry basket also.

(More customer reviews)if you are just outfitting your kitchen, start with this pan. Especially if you are cooking for 2 or 3. The 10" deep skillet is one of the least expensive, decent fry pans available. You can do a dutch apple pie with the lid on in the oven, you can cook eggs, pancakes, french toast on the lid. If you are cooking for 4, and want just one fry pan, get the 12". Otherwise this pan does it all. Roast, fry, oven and stove top. The pans are tough, mine is going on 20+ years.
Downside, takes a bit more oil or grease than a Teflon pan, but then if you own a parrot you already know you can't cook on Teflon. Makes you wonder how good it is for the rest of us.

Bayou Classic 1118 32-Quart Stainless Steel Turkey Fryer Review

(More customer reviews)I bought the Stainless Steel fry pot because SS is a better conductor, stronger metal compared to Aluminum, and cleans better. But, there's a heckuva price premium. I found the pot to be very sturdy and great quality, but three things bothered me somewhat:
1) The thermometer clip that comes with that pot is poorly designed. Once the thermometer is inserted on the lip of the pot, it direct the thermometer at an angle towards the center of the pot. Sure, the temperature reading is more accurate at the center, but this makes it difficult to remove the bird without first pushing the thermometer tip to the side of the pot. You'd rather not try to remove the thermometer as the pot is hot and you could splash the oil.
2) At this price, I would expect some fry baskets, but none were included. Without these, you have to try to fish out small items that you are frying such as fries, mozzarella sticks, etc. It can get hazardous. Prefer not to use the steam basket as a fry basket.
3) I coupled this pot with the BC Single Burner Outdoor Patio Stove, but even with this high BTU burner, it took a little more than 1/3 of my propane tank to heat peanut oil (2/3 full) up to 300F with an outdoor temp of 55F. Thus, with a full propane tank, you might be able to fry one turkey during the fall without changing tanks.
Overall, this pot is better quality than the Aluminum pot, but not really worth the high price, especially since it's not part of a combo pot/burner.

(More customer reviews)I have had this Hard-Anodized set for over 5 years and I love it - it hasn't warped and the nonstick surface has stayed without being scratched, unlike some of the other reviews (of course, you have to use non-metal spoons and spatulas with it, so it doesn't scratch the surface...).
Recently got married and received the chicken fryer to complete our set! I haven't used the actual fryer, but the 5 quart pan that accompanies it is great! I have used it to cook alot of things so far, and they all turn out wonderfully.
I love the Emerilware, and recommend the pans to anyone - a lifetime investment!!

Just make sure you take the time to re-season it and care for it correctly. I was a little disappointed to find out that the cover is only heat safe to 350 degrees while the pan is safe to 500 degrees but not a big deal.

(More customer reviews)This is the pan that you can cook anything in. Great for cooking stir fry or pan fry dumplings. The non-stick coating is excellent. Easy to wash and clean. Well-made hinges. Good quality pot. Love that it comes with lid. The pot is not as heavy as I thought, which makes it easier to wash in the sink.
The only con I have is that the smaller handle still gets a little hot and the rubber grip on that handle seems like it might come off one day if not careful. Other than that, we use this pot very frequently (several times a week) and enjoy it very much. If using this pot, I highly recommend cooking with bamboo or wood utensils so you won't scratch up the non-stick coating. I would recommend this pot to others and would buy again.

(More customer reviews)I use this pot to boil wort for beer making. It was about the most inexpensive stainless steel pot I could find of it's size. I wanted to be able to do full boils and this can boil 8 gallons without boiling over.
The steel is a bit thin, but I expected this for a pot under $100. Although the walls are thin, I have not no issues with strength or build quality. I feel completely comfortable picking the pot up with 6 gallons of boiling liquid in it. Although heavy, the handles are up to the task and remain cool.
Although there are higher quality pots out there, I don't think you can find another pot at this price at this quality level. I would recommend this pot to anyone looking for a large stock pot and a good price.
