(More customer reviews)I bought one of these for my mom after seeing her prepare bacon in the microwave for an otherwise simple lunchtime sandwich. This thing is a great little idea; no splattering grease, no nasty paper towels or anything left behind. For her particular microwave (800w I believe; quite small), it came out to about one minute per slice to achieve the desired result.
I have read other reviews saying to be careful about burning the device; I can understand that, as it does get fairly hot in the microwave. Plus, it requires a little different method to cook. I found that, after six minutes in the microwave, the slices of bacon weren't quite as crisp as we wanted, but after leaving them to sit in the cup for a couple of minutes while doing other things in the kitchen, they crisped-up well. I believe the delay is due to the enclosed nature of the device holding more moisture inside. Let the bacon air out for a minute after cooking and it seems to be just right.

(More customer reviews)You cannot beat All-Clad in the quality department. After using this pan for a week my family even noticed how my cooking was tastier. This pan does a fantastic job caramelizing meat and veggies. It heats very quickly and evenly. But it also cools very rapidly because the copper is a fantastic conductor of heat and cold. I like the copper core better because of the ease of maintenance. Just a little Barkeeper's Friend and it shines like new. The handle stays cool enough in most applications for me to use it bare handed. The sides are sloped just right to impress your friends with a little food flipping action. I've used it on both electric and gas stoves and was happy with the even heating of both. If you can swing the price you won't regret it.

Cook a large stew, or even brown up large amounts. It's a beauty and if you like large get it. And of course it is All Clad well worth the investment, made in USA.

Nordic Ware Jumbo Fryer with Cover 6 Quart Review

(More customer reviews)I needed to replace my T-Fal Specialty 5-Quart Nonstick Jumbo Cooker with Glass Lid, (which Amazon also sells) and went with the Nordic Ware because it's made in America, as opposed to the T-Fal, which is made in China. Surprisingly, the T-Fal is a heftier pan than the Nordic Ware. Used the Nordic Ware for the first time last night and it performed well. How it will hold up is anybody's guess. I got about two years out of the T-Fal. As always, with non-stick, the key is to cook with low to moderate heat.
